Sharps Bin Collection
Merton Council will arrange collection of your clinical waste such as used syringes and needles. They should always be placed in a “sharps” container which you can obtain from your doctor. Collection of your clinical waste needs to be confirmed in writing by an appropriate member of the medical profession such as your general practitioner, district nurse or a midwife.
Please call the clinical and medical waste team on 020 8545 3022 to make a request for this service or for further information.
- An officer from Merton Council will contact you to make arrangements for delivery of yellow clinical waste bags and determine a prearranged collection point that suits you.
- This service is free of charge for domestic residents with a medical request.
- Please note that other sharps and drug related items found on private property that do not have a clinical collection arrangement, may incur a charge for removal, (subject to a quote) from Merton council.
Please return your “sharps” container to our Tooting surgery.
